MNYHOP

7 Unique Prayer Focuses of the MNYHOP

I. A Ministry of the Presence

1First and foremost, we were created to have relationship with our heavenly father. God the father is passionately in love with his sons and daughters and His desire is for us to love Him back! Without an understanding of this, the first and greatest commandment, all other ministry, deeds, networks, outreaches, and even houses of prayer are as Paul says, “like a clanging cymbal”. It is simply a lot of noise!

Everything that the MNYHOP does flows first out of this understanding. As we gather together to seek the face of the Lord, our prayer is that we would be drawn into a deeper and more intimate relationship with him. Then and only then will we be equipped to do the necessary Kingdom work in the region.

II. Revival in NYC, the Eastern Seaboard, America, and the Nations of the Earth

2The MNYHOP is committed to the vision of an awakened, functionally unified Church in the greater NYC area and up and down the Eastern Seaboard. The Eastern Seaboard is one of the most powerful geographic areas on the planet, and NYC is the heart of that powerbase. To touch NYC is to touch the world.

Education, government, finance, the arts, media - every major earthly kingdom has its powerbase in the Eastern Seaboard and specifically New York City. Yale, Harvard, Princeton, the White House, the United Nations, Wall Street, Broadway - all of these exist only a few hours from each other.

Not only is the Eastern Seaboard the concentration of the world's power, it is also the concentration of the world's diverse population. The nations of the world live in NYC and the Eastern Seaboard. Well over 120 languages are spoken in NYC alone. And, the greatest concentration of Jewish people in the world live in NYC.

All of this leads us to believe that the Lord wants to demonstrate the reality of His Kingdom in this vital region. He will do this in response to and in cooperation with fervent, sustained, intercession. This is the vision of the MNYHOP.

Our nation is facing a critical time of decision. As our courts discuss pertinent issues such as abortion, gay marriage, prayer in schools, and many others, the church remains largely silent. Now is the time that we must rise up and cry out for our nation!

III. Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem

3There is one physical city on the planet that the Father loves in a special way, and He has commanded us to pray for its peace. The MNYHOP is committed to praying constantly for the peace of Jerusalem, as well as lifting up intercession for the well- being of Jewish people around the world. As the evil forces of anti-Semitism are once again arising in the earth, the Church must not be silent. We must take our place as "watchmen on the wall," crying out for God's protection of His ancient people and praying that all of His promises to them would be fulfilled.

We also have a heart to see the sons and daughters of Ishmael reconciled to the God of their father, Abraham. So, we pray for the Arab and Muslim peoples of the world, that they would turn back to the true God of Abraham, finding salvation through His son, Jesus Christ.

IV. Interdenominational, Interracial, and Intergenerational Reconciliation

4Undoubtedly, one of the enemy’s assaults on the end time church is to divide and conquer along Interdenominational, Interracial, and Intergenerational lines. There are currently over 23,000 different Christian denominations... what could be accomplished if there were to be functional unity among these different groups? Simultaneously, we build walls of racial division, hesitating to accept other cultures and expressions of worship.  Jesus prayed, “Father that they may be one as we are one” (John 17). When these walls begin to come down in a city and region, the army of God will be functional and united for the purposes of the Kingdom.

One of the most urgent matters for the last-days Church is the understanding of intergenerational reconciliation and cooperation. We live in a parentless generation, where the family is under assault as it has never been in our day. In the midst of this culture, the Church is to be a living demonstration of healing for the family. A place where spiritual fathers and mothers are present to minister life to those young in the faith, and where spiritual sons and daughters honor and seek the blessing and counsel of their elders in the faith.

The MNYHOP seeks to demonstrate on every level that there is no generation gap in the family of God, and that the God of restoration brings healing and wholeness to those who come into His family. Thus, our discipleship model is based on fathering and mothering spiritual sons and daughters - taking a genuine interest and being genuinely available and vulnerable with one another as we walk in relationship in the family of God.

V. Righteousness and Justice in America and the Nations of the Earth

5Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of the very throne of God (Psalm 97:2)and He is raising up a people who will cry out for righteousness and justice to be released in the nations of the earth in these last days. Whether the issue is the 43 million aborted babies in the USA alone, human rights issues in the middle east, or widespread hunger in many 3rd world nations, we must contend in the spiritual realm for God to intervene on behalf of His people. Only from this place of prayer as a foundation will we begin to see true answers to social problems that have plagued the earth for many years.

VI. Massive End-Time Harvest

6We look for an unprecedented global harvest  in this generation as billions come to know the Lord.  We look to see the nations turning to the Son of God with repentant hearts, as He offers them forgiveness and restoration, welcoming them into His loving arms. The Word of God says that "the glory of the latter house will be greater than the glory of the former," (Haggai 2:9) and that the best days of the Church are yet to come. Though we see evil and darkness increasing in the earth, we believe that this is an opportunity like never before for the light of God to arise in His people.

Fearless and radical end-time missionaries and witnesses are being raised up to disciple nations for Christ in these last days. Filled with a spirit of humility and holy zeal, some are giving their lives in martyrdom for the Kingdom's sake. Praying for the release of this last-days people is an important focus of the House of Prayer.

VII. Mercy Arm

7As we fuel the fires of prayer and intercession in the region, we also seek to be a light and source of hope on a local city and regional level in very practical ways. We do not want to be so closed off and indifferent to the practical needs of the poor and needy in the community. Just as Jesus’ ministry was balanced between time with His father (prayer and worship) and healing the sick, caring for the poor, and other mercy outreaches, the MNYHOP seeks to find this balance as well. This will happen primarily through linking with existing outreach ministries that already exist in the region.
